Central to good public speaking and presentation skills is the process used to prepare and give a presentation. If we are sure we know how to go about preparing and giving a presentation, our public speaking fear subsides and we can lose ourselves in the preparation of the presentation. Good preparation will allow us to give the presentation with confidence and often with pleasure The purpose of this post is to outline and explain the presentation skills that will result in an effective presentation.
1. Determine the purpose of your presentation. A good presentation is purposeful. There should be a good reason for the time and energy spent in preparing, giving and of course listening to the presentation.
Too many presentations do not have a purpose and it is of no use to the audience and the presenter.
